Humans are constantly fascinated with auto-operating AI-driven gadgets. The latest trend that is catching the eye of the majority of the tech industry and now the PR industry, is chatbots.
And with so much research and advancement in the field, the programming is winding up more human-like, on top of being automated. The blend of immediate response reaction and consistent connectivity makes them an engaging change to the web applications trend.
For background info, we designed the distinct Rochester PR (RPR) brand identity a few years back. RPR has strong business links with China, so the ‘R’ was closely based around a Chinese ‘chop’ or seal and coloured up using the Chinese ‘lucky’ red colour. This subtle, intelligent and crucially ‘courteous’ brand identity has been extremely successful for our client in the Far East.
The chat bot project was a ‘no brainer’ for RPR. With popularity for chat bots growing, particularly in China, it made sense to integrate this new technology immediately into the website. To satisfy the visual aspect of the project we were asked to draw up four possible icons from which the ‘droid’ bot was chosen as the favourite via a public poll.
It’s now in position on the ‘contact page’ and the branding works superbly, considering the miniscule size these icons are displayed at – Click here to view – and aptly demonstrates how essential it is to get the brand identity ‘spot on’ and tested for purpose at the outset.
